TJ Villanueva joined GM Financial in March 2019.  As the Vice President, Associate Counsel, he is responsible for providing advice and guidance on all aspects of commercial automobile finance, including fleet solutions and commercial lease operations, and managing litigation for the commercial lines of business.

Prior to joining GM Financial, TJ Villanueva spent 6 years as in-house counsel for the Exeter Finance LLC (“Exeter”) legal team, focused on legal support for all lines of business, oversight of regulatory and compliance matters, policies and procedures, managing litigation and complex transactions.  Prior to joining Exeter, he has had litigation, client building, document review, and trial experience in the Legal Profession—having served in Litigation and Legal Analyst roles in a variety of firms.

Prior to obtaining his Juris Doctor degree, TJ Villanueva has had extensive management, analytical, operational and sales experience in the Auto Finance Industry—having served as Business Development Manager, Area Financial Services Manager, Commercial Lending Analyst, Acquisition Analyst and Portfolio Analyst in a variety of finance companies, including Capital One Auto Finance and Ally Financial f/k/a General Motors Acceptance Corporation.
