Consumer Portfolio Services’ Mike Lavin joins Auto Finance Summit 2025 

Auto Finance News is pleased to announce that Mike Lavin, president at Consumer Portfolio Services, will join a session on subprime lending at Auto Finance Summit 2025, returning Oct. 15-17 at Bellagio Las Vegas.

Lavin joined Consumer Portfolio Services in 2001 and has held several leadership positions across legal and operations. He manages the financier’s sales, operations, servicing, risk, IT, human resources, legal and investor relations departments.  

CPS’ originations tallied $433 million in new contracts in the second quarter, on par with a year prior, according to the lender’s Aug. 11 earnings release. Receivables landed at $3.7 billion, up 16.9% year over year.  

Lavin will join executives from Arivo Acceptance, Global Lending Services and Lendbuzz on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 3 p.m. local time for the panel discussion “New avenues in subprime and near-prime auto lending” where they will discuss strategies for growth in underserved markets amid headwinds such as lender challenges and affordability woes.
