Douglas W. Marohn is a seasoned executive with more than 32 years of experience in the consumer finance industry, with deep expertise in subprime auto finance through the independent dealer channel.
He spent the majority of his early career (1998–2011) leading operations at Nicholas Financial Inc., where he built a strong reputation for operational execution, portfolio performance, and disciplined growth. He later served as Senior Vice President of Operations at TMX Finance, further expanding his leadership experience across large-scale, multi-state lending platforms.
From January 2014 through December 2017, Doug served as Chief Executive Officer of Metrolina Credit Company, where he successfully scaled the business and strengthened its market position. He was subsequently named CEO of Nicholas Financial Inc. in December 2017, leading the company through a critical turnaround period and reestablishing operational and financial stability.
From January 2023 through September 2025, Doug served as President and Chief Operating Officer of FlexPath Capital, where he led the development and expansion of an inventory floorplan financing platform serving independent auto dealers throughout the Southeast. During this period, he also operated his own consulting firm, Creditum Professional Advisory, advising financial institutions and specialty finance companies on strategy, operations, and growth initiatives until March 2026.
In March 2026, Doug was appointed Chief Executive Officer of 1803 Capital / Edge Financial Services, where he is leading the company’s transformation and the launch of the “Edge 2.0” initiative. This strategy is focused on building a comprehensive, dealer-centric ecosystem that includes point-of-sale indirect originations, portfolio acquisitions, independent dealer floorplan inventory finance, and warehouse credit facilities for select dealer partners.
Doug resides with his wife and family in the Charlotte metropolitan area and spends significant time in New Orleans, where he is actively leading the growth and turnaround of Edge Financial Services.
