Jeffrey Taft, Washington D.C., is a partner in the Finance group based in the Washington, DC office and is a co-leader of the firm’s financial services product group.  His practice focuses primarily on advising banks, merchants, finance companies, technology providers, and secondary market participants on state and federal consumer financial services issues across various asset classes, including auto loans and leases, unsecured consumer lending, credit cards, home improvement loans, and small business loans.  He has extensive experience counseling financial institutions and finance companies originating consumer loans and secondary market participants acquiring or financing consumer loans on licensing, compliance requirements, and structuring considerations.  Jeff regularly assists companies with their development, implementation, and review of regulatory compliance programs, including privacy, data breach and cybersecurity programs designed to comply with the federal and state privacy and data breach laws and industry standards.
