American Honda chief financial officer to join Auto Finance Capital Summit
Auto Finance News is pleased to announce that Paul Honda, principal financial officer at American Honda Finance, will join a discussion on building the right treasury team at the inaugural Auto Finance Capital Summit, taking place May 11-12 at JW Mariott in Nashville, Tenn.
The panel, “Building the Next-Gen Treasury Team,” will take place at 3:30 p.m. local time on Monday, May 11.
Honda will provide tips on how to:
- Train professionals on complex funding structures,
- Increase the flow of information in remote and hybrid work settings;
- Unpack risk and compliance frameworks; and
- Consider how mentors lend to the stability of a team.
Honda is essentially chief financial officer at the captive financier, where he is a 20-year veteran. He leads the treasury, finance and accounting teams; facilitates planning initiatives; ensures financial compliance; and heads human resource functions for the captive. He has also held several leadership roles under the American Honda umbrella in manufacturing, U.S. sales, research and development.
The captive was the seventh-largest auto lender by outstandings at yearend 2024 with a portfolio of $69.6 billion, according to the latest Big Wheels Rankings data. The captive’s loan portfolio through Sept. 30, 2025 totaled $43.4 billion, according to a Feb. 4 presale report from Moody’s Ratings.
