Santander Consumer USA’s Laney joins Auto Finance Summit East fireside chat

The Auto Finance News team is pleased to announce that Erik Laney, chief financial officer at Santander Consumer USA, will join a one-on-one fireside chat on May 13 during Auto Finance Summit East 2025, returning to Nashville May 12-14. 

Laney will discuss the financier’s strategy execution, tech advancements and expectations for a year marked by presidential administration changes and uncertain retail dynamics.

The 2025 summit will bring together automotive lenders and dealers for panel discussions on tapping into subprime with machine learning and alternative data, auto refinance opportunities and ensuring compliance under the new presidential administration, as well as unique networking opportunities through workshops, roundtable discussions, luncheons and receptions. 

Meet the speaker  

Erik Laney

Laney joined Santander Consumer USA (SCUSA) in December 2014. During his tenure, he has been vice president of corporate strategy and development; senior vice president and head of financial planning and analysis; executive vice president and head of corporate strategy, development, financial planning and analysis; and treasurer before moving to his current role, according to Laney’s LinkedIn profile.  

Prior to joining SCUSA, he held investment banking and capital market roles at JP Morgan from June 2008 to December 2014. 

SCUSA’s auto portfolio totaled $57.8 billion at yearend 2023, making it the eighth largest auto lender by outstandings, according to the latest Big Wheels Rankings data
