BMW Financial Services chief compliance officer Richard Corthell joins AFS 2025

Richard Corthell
Corthell leads BMW Financial’s compliance department and the company’s activities related to governance, information protection, cybersecurity, data privacy and consumer compliance. He has been with BMW Financial Services since 2015 and before that led the captive’s compliance management system as consumer compliance manager.
BMW Financial was the 12th-largest auto lender by outstandings at yearend 2024 with a portfolio of $37.9 billion, according to the latest Big Wheels Rankings data.
He will join compliance experts from law firm Nisen & Elliott and lender Westlake Financial Services on Oct. 17 to discuss:
- Parsing the shifts in federal and state-level oversight;
- Regulatory considerations for sound servicing, collections and repossessions; and
- Best practices for keeping aftermarket and underwriting compliance at the forefront.
Compliance is one of many topics that Auto Finance Summit 2025 attendees will be able to dive into across fireside chats, workshops and panel discussions.
