GM Financial EVP, CIO Chitra Herle joins Auto Finance Summit 2025

Chitra Herle
Herle has more than 20 years of experience in IT and the auto finance industry and leads GM Financial’s global IT team. She is responsible for steering companywide initiatives that drive business performance and competitive advantages.
Prior to joining GM Financial as CIO in January 2023, Herle held senior leadership positions at Capital One, CBRE and Silicon Valley Bank.
The captive for General Motors, GM Financial’s originations rose 9.6% year over year in the second quarter to $14.9 billion, while loan and lease outstandings increased 7.1% YoY to $111 billion. GM Financial at yearend 2024 was the was the second-largest auto lender by outstandings, according to the latest Big Wheels Rankings data.
Herle will join executives from Ally Financial, Chase Auto and EV Life on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 2:15 p.m. local time to discuss where digitalization is headed. The panel will discuss:
- Where to invest in digitalization for optimum return;
- New ways to use data to enhance customer service, communications and analytics; and
- How to maintain personalization in the shift toward AI and automation.
