Laney and Chase Auto CFO Douglas Arrigo will discuss origination trends, credit markets, inflationary pressures and management strategies in a session titled “Capital, Credit and Cycles: Navigating Auto Finance Through Volatility” at 9:45 a.m. local time on Oct. 6.
Laney, who has worked at Santander for more than 11 years, became CFO in September 2022. He previously spent more than six years at JPMorgan Chase.
Santander’s parent company, Banco Santander SA, received federal approval to acquire Webster Financial Co. for $12.2 billion today. Santander was the 10th-largest auto lender by outstandings at yearend 2025 with a portfolio of $51 billion, according to the latest Big Wheels ranking data.
