Alex Liegl

Alex Liegl is the co-founder and CEO of Tenet. He leads the climate financing platform’s efforts to accelerate the mainstream adoption of electrification technologies by making them more accessible, starting with EV car loans for consumers and businesses. Prior to Tenet, Liegl was the founder and CEO of Layer1, one of the largest U.S. Bitcoin mining companies that pioneered the use of data centers to stabilize renewable energy grids. Liegl was also on the special investments desk of Stanford Management Company and an Artificial Intelligence strategy analyst at Protégé Partners. Born and raised in Germany, Alex earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Philosophy from Stanford University. Liegl has received awards in recognition of his work to advance the renewable energy economy, including being named to Forbes 30 Under 30 – Energy in 2020.
