Mr. Hummer has over 38 years experience in banking and finance.  He received his B.G.S. from the University of Michigan in 1979 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1982.  After working for the Lucas County Prosecutor’s office as a senior staff attorney, he went into private practice in 1984 with a boutique firm that specialized in finance law. Here, he obtained considerable experience in the areas of secured transaction law, consumer credit and collection law, banking and finance.

In 1992 he relocated to Reno, Nevada and was hired help to setup a national finance company for Harley-Davidson Inc. In addition to his responsibilities as General Counsel for Harley-Davidson Financial Services, he also oversaw Credit Operations, Information Systems, Compliance and Risk.

After leaving HDFS, he was hired to set-up FreedomRoad Financial, a powersports finance division for Evergreen Community Bank. He was responsible for developing all the legal documentation and contracts, policies and procedure, licenses, site acquisition, system selection and the hiring and training of the employees in Nevada.

In 2014, with the aid of some dedicated employees, launched ThunderRoad Financial. He serves as the President and CEO.  ThunderRoad Financial is premier powersports financial services company that fills the void between captive finance companies and large financial institutions. Providing the powersports dealers with competitive financing, ancillary products, along with exemplary service and an experienced, knowledgeable staff, that is second to none.  In 2016, ThunderRoad Financial successfully issued its first securitization.

From 2017-2019 he served as Chairman of the Powersports Finance Board of Advisors.
