James joined Arivo Acceptance as the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel in August 2023.  As an executive, he oversees the following departments:  legal, compliance, policy writing, operations, and funding.  James regularly advises and consults with the board of directors on all compliance matters, outstanding claims and litigation, and internal investigations.

Previously, James was the General Counsel and Administrative Officer for Skullcandy, Inc.  He oversaw all legal operations, human resources, and compliance for a global electronics lifestyle brand with offices in the US, China, Canada, England, Japan, and Switzerland.  He led a team of global compliance leaders, human resource managers, and internal legal professionals. He also worked intimately with outside counsel on intellectual property and litigation matters.

Before joining Skullcandy, James was a partner in a boutique civil law firm based in Southern Nevada.  He is licensed in Nevada, California and Utah.  He is also admitted to several federal courts within those states as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.  He represented businesses and individuals in civil legal matters including litigation, arbitration, contract negotiation, and business formation.  He is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated attorney.  He was a panel lecturer with the National Business Institute from 2011 – 2017.  James holds a Juris Doctorate and a BS in International Business from UNLV.
