Joanna Dean serves as Vice President of Sales at Hyundai Capital America (HCA), where she leads the company’s national sales strategy, supporting the financial services needs of Hyundai Motor America, Genesis Motor America, and Kia America. In this role, she works closely with OEM leadership across all three brands while also leading insurance products and dealer engagement programs across HCA’s national dealer network, strengthening enterprise relationships, accelerating captive lending growth, and advancing HCA’s automotive finance solutions. 

Prior to joining HCA, Joanna built a 25-year career at Toyota Financial Services, rising to Group Vice President of Sales & Service Operations and developing deep expertise in captive sales, operations, and long-standing dealer relationships. 

Joanna’s career progression through field operations, sales leadership, and enterprise transformation, provided her with a comprehensive understanding of dealer needs and the operational rigor required to support them. She is known for building trusted partnerships with dealer principals and executive teams, driving market share growth, and leading large, geographically dispersed sales organizations with a strong focus on performance, collaboration, and execution. 

In addition to her corporate leadership, Joanna has a strong commitment to board and community service. She has served on the Board of Directors for RouteOne, Board Member for the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) and Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles. She also supports building a diverse workforce, with a strong focus on advocating for emerging talent and women. 

Joanna earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Irvine and participated in the LEAP Leadership Program at ESADE School of Business and Yale School of Management in 2022. She was also named an Automotive News Rising Star in 2021. 

She enjoys traveling with her family, embracing life as a baseball and soccer mom, cooking, and spending time on the golf course.
