Sanjiv Yajnik is President of Financial Services at Capital One, which includes overseeing the company’s Auto Finance lines of business. In Sanjiv’s time as President, the business has turned around to become one of the largest auto lenders in the nation.
Throughout his career, Sanjiv has made the jump across different industries, unlocking growth in a variety of positions that took him around the world. In his 25 years with the company, Sanjiv has had the opportunity to leverage his robust background in engineering, art and business to assemble a world-class team, and to transform every aspect of his Division. He does this by combining customer-back design, technology and innovative operational structures. He created the Garage, Capital One’s innovation space in Plano, and as a true hands-on leader in digital innovation, he himself holds 18 U.S. patents across 9 patent families and has multiple patents pending on digital products.
Sanjiv believes that vibrant businesses and vibrant communities go hand in hand, and in support of the Capital One Impact Initiative, he’s committed to helping advance socioeconomic mobility, community growth and civic involvement. He also holds positions inside and outside of Capital One aligned to his personal passions: uniting businesses, governments and nonprofits to build thriving communities; attracting and retaining amazing talent; and bringing together art and technology to innovate for the future.
Within Capital One, Sanjiv leads community activities throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana as Regional President of the company’s South Central Market President Network. He also serves as Executive Sponsor of the Origins Business Resource Group, a community within Capital One focused on supporting Asian and Pacific Islander associates.
Additionally, Sanjiv is involved in multiple national and local organizations. He sits on the Board of Directors for Khan Academy, a nonprofit organization that provides free, world‑class education for anyone, anywhere, as well as board member and former chair of the nationally-acclaimed Dallas Symphony Association. Sanjiv is also founder and chairman of the Collin County Business Alliance, a group of business leaders who have come together to address issues facing North Texas; the co-chair of the Indian American CEO (IACEO) Council, whose mission is to facilitate domestic and global alliances, elevate the community and drive economic prosperity for the nation; and co-chair of the Dallas Mayor’s Anti-Hate Advisory Council. He also sits on the Board of Directors for CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate and investment company.
Finally, in addition to his current positions, Sanjiv is the former chairman of the Texas Economic Development Corporation and former treasurer of NAF, a national network of education, business and community leaders who work together to ensure high school students are college, career and future ready.
