Scot Hensel brings over 40 years of automotive experience, building his career from the ground up and developing a deep operational understanding of the business at every level. He began in 1986 as a car porter, quickly advancing through service leadership roles before transitioning into sales and ultimately finance, where he found his niche in special finance and performance-driven deal structuring.

In 2013, Scot joined Kunes Auto Group as a Special Finance Manager, helping establish and scale a critical function of the business during a period of early growth. At the time, Kunes operated just four stores.

Today, Scot serves as Finance Director for the Auto Division, overseeing both prime and subprime finance operations across one of the Midwest’s fastest-growing dealership groups. Under his leadership tenure, Kunes has expanded to more than 30 rooftops and over 40 total locations across the region, reflecting a sustained trajectory of aggressive growth and operational excellence.

Known for his deep expertise in credit, structure, and lender strategy, Scot plays a key role in shaping the financial performance and scalability of the organization. His career is defined by hands-on experience, disciplined execution, and a proven ability to drive results in complex, high-growth environments.
